Design and Interface

• Apple iOS – Out of the three phone systems, most people would agree that Apple’s iOS software is the most user friendly. It’s simple design make it easy to navigate throughout your countless pages of apps. The phone, contacts, and photos are extremely easy to get to within the system.

• Android – The Android interface can take some time to get used to if you’ve never used one before. It’s pretty basic and the newest update Marshmallow 6.0 is pretty much the same as Lollipop 5.0, but it updated the back end of it with more system settings than the actual design of the phone’s interface.

• Windows – The Windows interface looks great, it’s hard to argue with that statement. The design is glossy and it’s fairly easy to navigate once you learn your way around the system. The tiles are completely different than the other two systems which is good. It stands out and people know you’re using a Windows phone just from the way your screen looks. The tiles also flip over to give you more information about each app.

Applications and Stores

• Apple iOS – Years ago Apple dominated apps with their App Store. They had all the big name or “triple-A” games on their platform and most games released first on here because of how smoothly the iPhone iOS system ran at the time compared to other phones. This isn’t the case anymore and it probably won’t be ever again, due to advancements with other phone systems. Although there is a bias with Apple. Apps like Instagram and Spotify trial new features on Apple’s system.

• Android – Android has all of these big name games now and some apps even make their debut on the Android system, due to Google’s approval. It tends to be a bit more relaxed over Apple’s. You can get most apps on Android, but it can be harder for certain apps to make it to this system quickly because of how difficult the software can be to work with. Game developers don’t like this because people’s expectations of gaming performance.

• Windows – Windows is new to the game with the Windows 10 Mobile. There haven’t been too many apps going to the store because of previous models of the phones running the system. To put it this way, it really wasn’t the best type of phone at the time. With the latest update and the sleek design though, the other phone systems might want to watch their backs for Windows during this race.

The Verdict

If you want something that is extremely user friendly and is easy to navigate, go with the Apple iPhone. If you don’t mind all these extra features and spacious, yet more complex design, go with Androids. Lastly, if you’re looking for something new with a gorgeous interface, go with a Windows phone.
